Fired Boston Hyatt housekeepers gain support of environmental legislators

A national group of environmentally attuned state legislators promised a national boycott of the Hyatt chain for its outsourcing of the jobs of 98 housekeepers. The National Caucus of Environmental Legislators invited one of the fired housekeepers to speak at the group's regional meeting, which was held at one of the three Boston Hyatts that terminated its housekeepers. The group further criticized the hotel for failing to inform it directly of the dispute, effectively depriving it of the opportunity to cancel its booking.
