Quickly on the rise after the economic downturn, New York City's hotel industry is again one of the strongest and most appealing markets in the world. Crain's New York reports that foreign investors, many without previous real estate experience, are flocking here to benefit from the big gains investments in NYC hotels yield. 

New trend in new hotel development

An Agence France-Presse story in The Vancouver Sun discussed the growing number of "Pod" hotels, such as Manhattan's The Jane and The Pod Hotel. Inspired by the Japanese "capsule" hotels, they have been gaining popularity in New York City since The Pod opened in 2007.

Hotels keep going up: what does this mean for HTC members?
