It’s Unanimous! Union Wins City Council Vote to Cut Down on Illegal Hotels
Hotel Voice, August 1, 2018 - On Wednesday, July 18, the New York City Council voted unanimously to pass a bill that restricts Airbnb and other short-term home rental services from threatening hotel jobs and reducing affordable housing. These rental services have been competing unfairly against legitimate hotels and the bill will greatly rein in this practice. The City Council’s vote was 45-0. Union’s Scholarships Awarded to 45 High School Seniors

Members Applaud Seniors’ Days 2018
Hotel Voice, August 1, 2018 - Seniors’ Days provides specific attention to retired members, both as a whole and as individuals, and it helps members over age 55 who are still working prepare for retirement. Those that participated May 8-11 visited their respective Health Centers without any appointments being necessary, giving each of them the opportunity to speak personally with doctors, dentists and other healthcare professionals. HTC Now Represents Almost 8,000 Members In Shops Outside New York City
Hotel Voice, July 1, 2018 - This edition of Hotel Voice tells the story of how the Hotel Trades Council has organized and won contracts for thousands of hotel workers outside New York City and how it has strictly enforced those contracts. In 2010 HTC did not represent any employees outside New York City. Now the union represents almost 8,000 of these workers in addition to the 30,000 HTC represents in New York City. [more...]
