NFL Players Association shows support for nonunion hotel workers fighting for union representationNYHTC - May 6, 2010
In advance of next year's NFL Scouting Combine, the Players Association has sent letters to the Westin Indianapolis, the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, and the Sheraton Indianapolis Hotel & Suites, expressing concern about the hotels' treatment of workers seeking to win union representation and their failure to pay the workers wages comparable to those in other cities.
The Scouting Combine is an event that will fill a large number of Indianapolis' hotel rooms, and hotels avoided by the Players Association stand to lose a great deal of business. The letters sent by the Players Association cautioned that the Players Association "will do business with hotel companies that treat their employees with fairness and respect."
