September 30, 2013 12:01 PM

Local 6 member Edgar Jaramillo will be appearing in a leading role in Cavalleria Rustica, an 1890 one-act opera masterpiece composed by Pietro Mascagni. Jaramillo, a tenor who works at Brittany Hall when he is not singing, will have the role of Turiddu.

The opera will be accompanied by a full orchestra and will be presented by the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera on Sunday, October 20, at 3:30 p.m. at the Bergen Arts Center, 30 North Van Brunt Street, Englewood, NJ. Members can order tickets online at www.njavo.org or by phone at 201-227-1030.

Puccini’s Suor Angelica will also be presented at the Bergen Arts Center on October 20 and, yes, it is a two-for-one event. A ticket of admission gets you two operas!

Opera may not be everyone’s favorite form of entertainment, but Edgar Jaramillo wins over new fans every time he visits Local 6’s offices. Members who have not heard Edgar Jaramillo sing are in for a real treat by visiting the Bergen Arts Center on October 20.
