Baccarat Workers Vote “UNION YES” by Large Majority!

November 1, 2016

The workers of the Baccarat Hotel & Residences New York have voted by a large majority, in an election conducted by the U.S. Government, to be represented by our union.

The vote was:
YES 86 (67%)
NO 42 (33%)

The margin was especially impressive in light of the extraordinarily aggressive anti-union campaign waged by the company, which was apparently “masterminded” by an old anti-union lawyer named Archibald Stokes of Atlanta, Georgia.

Union President Peter Ward had this to say on the victory: “The members of HTC welcome the Baccarat workers into our ranks, and we urge Baccarat management to accept the clear decision of the employees. We intend to negotiate a fair contract that recognizes the exceptional quality of the hotel and its staff and we hope management will approach the negotiations with us in the same spirit.”

The Baccarat is located on 53rd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues.
