Paladino flip-flops on his innuendoes and unfounded allegations re Cuomo “‘paramours’”NYHTC - October 30, 2010
Carl Paladino alleged Andrew Cuomo had had affairs while married to Kerry Kennedy, according to a September 29, 2010, article in POLITICO.com. Although asked during the POLITICO interview for substantiation of his allegation, he offered none. The article notes that despite the extensive media coverage of the circumstances underlying the Kennedy-Cuomo divorce, no allegations of infidelity on Cuomo's part were ever made nor did evidence of any emerge at any point.

The New York Post reported on October 1, 2010, that Carl Paladino was now insisting his remarks to the media regarding Andrew Cuomo's alleged affairs had been misunderstood. In response to Paladino's abrupt change of message, however, POLITICO.com had posted additional quotes from its September 28 interview with Paladino, in which he claimed to know who "'three of the four'" women Cuomo allegedly had affairs with were. Paladino spokesman Michael Caputo nonetheless explained Paladino "misspoke" when he earlier told the Post he would produce proof "'at the appropriate time.'"

The Associated Press also reported on October 1 that Paladino had recanted his earlier statements about Andrew Cuomo's alleged infidelity and was now saying he has no proof and misspoke.

Meanwhile, the New York Daily News also carried an article about Paladino's dramatically shifting positions on his allegations that Andrew Cuomo was unfaithful during his marriage to Kerry Kennedy. Contrary to prior Paladino assertions that he had misspoken and had no proof, the article quoted Paladino as saying when asked on the Fox News channel if he had such proof "'We will at the appropriate time, okay, say whatever we have in our box, at the appropriate time, yes.'" and "'What I believe and what is factual out there, we will, at the appropriate time, put out, yes.'"
