New eco-friendly hotel planned for Lower Manhattan

Shalimar Management has announced plans to build an eco-friendly hotel at 100 Varick Street in Lower Manhattan. The proposed hotel is expected to use a new solar technology that has never previously been used on a building in New York City, and it could generate as much as $40,000 to $50,000 yearly in electricity savings. Shalimar Management, which is run by Charles Fridman, also has developments at 540 West 50th Street and 90 Clinton Street.
