Mr. Paladino, voters are entitled to know: why did you send those appalling emails?

After Carl Paladino sought to explain away his sending of racist, sexist, and pornographic emails as "poor judgment," New York Times columnist Bob Herbert urged him to make a "full, thoughtful explanation" of why he engaged in this offensive behavior. Herbert wrote that the content of the emails and Paladino's sending of them raises questions both about his fitness for the highest office in the state and also about whether he harbors deep-seated prejudices against women, blacks, and other minorities.
