Judge rules Tavern on the Green can auction assets

A ruling by a U.S. bankruptcy judge cleared the way for the auction of Tavern on the Green assets scheduled for January 13, 14, and 15, 2010. In a December 31, 2009, order, the bankruptcy court judge wrote, "The immediate sale of the assets are necessary and appropriate to maximize the value of the assets for the benefit of the debtors, their estates and creditors." Ownership of some of the assets remains in question with New York City, who claims they are are owned by it and not by the restaurant's former operators.
