Immigration accord by labor boosts Obama effort

The AFL-CIO and Change to Win, the country's two major labor federations, have joined forces to help President Obama overhaul the immigration system. Despite having been previously divided on proposed immigration policies, the two groups have come together to endorse the legalization of illegal immigrants currently living in the United States. However, Obama and the labor groups are facing a tough battle against the business community, which is still committed to maintaining a large guest-worker program.
