Auction of Tavern on the Green items creates buzz

 

Tavern on the Green artwork, statues, chandeliers, and other items are showing themselves to be the subject of enormous pre-auction interest on the internet and elsewhere. Hundreds of thousands of people have viewed the articles which will be auctioned, and the Manhattan auctioneer presiding over the auction noted that interest "is coming from more than a dozen countries." The three-day event begins January 13, 2010.
