AFL-CIO unhappy with NY State Senate

In the wake of this year's senate disaster, the New York AFL-CIO has vowed to reevaluate which candidates the 2.5 million-member union will be supporting in the 2010 elections. The state legislature failed in its responsibilities to help the working families of New York, and state AFL-CIO President Denis Hughes plans to hold the politicians accountable for their negligence. While the union has not yet announced who they will back in the 2010 elections, Hughes has made it clear that the union will be supporting candidates who will stand up for workers instead of blaming them for the state's problems. Hughes further warned that politicians already in office should not rest too comfortably on the supposed security of their incumbency.
