13 more Marriotts for Manhattan within next 3 years

Manhattan remains a powerful draw for hotel companies, as was amply demonstrated by Marriott International's recent announcement that it intends to open 13 new budget hotels here. Crain's New York reported that its robust expansion plans will almost double the number of New York City hotels it currently operates and will bring an additional 2,900 rooms online.

The SoHo Courtyard, the first of this group, opens on Varick Street in Lower Manhattan November.
