In-House FileMaker Developer

Our organization is looking for an experienced FileMaker Pro developer to join our in-house development team here in our Manhattan office. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years experience building and maintaining business applications using the FileMaker Pro platform.

In this fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, candidates should be able to work in a team, handle many projects at once while staying organized, and communicate clearly to users with limited technical know-how. An ability to work under pressure and to grasp complex development structures is a necessity.

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years developing with FileMaker Pro, version 12 or later
  • Ability to think creatively in order to solve problems
  • Organized, thorough, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Dedication to good documentation and development best practices
  • Ability to balance elegance and fast completion time, depending on situation
  • Ability to complete work assignments while under pressure
  • Experience communicating with end users who have limited knowledge of software development and other computer-related technologies
  • Willingness to perform tasks outside of job description, if called on to do so

Other Useful Skills:

  • Experience with FileMaker Server administration
  • Exposure to and experience with other interaction between FileMaker and other technologies – Javascript; PHP5; JDBC; XML; SQL
  • Web development using MVC and other frameworks
  • Understanding of and enthusiasm for labor unions
  • Experience with graphic or interface design
  • Some knowledge of AppleScript and other scripting languages

Any successful Developer who distinguishes him/herself, demonstrates commitment and resourcefulness, and develops an understanding of the union and its operations will have numerous opportunities for advancement in a number of interesting and challenging areas.

Salary and Benefits

Starting salary is based on experience and qualifications ($60-$75k).
